Some of the recipes I will post will seem so simple, they are silly–but when you are trying to eliminate grains and refined sugars from your diet, it is nice to have some simple recipes. Here is one of them.
Quick & Easy Chili
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 can of tomatoes
1 can of tomato paste (3 oz)
15 or so cherry tomatoes, chopped (or a can of tomato sauce)
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1. Brown beef in a medium saucepan. Add onion and cook until slightly tender.
2. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and cherry tomatoes or tomato sauce and stir.
3. Add chili powder and garlic and let simmer a few minutes. Enjoy!
*Typically, I just use tomato sauce. I was out of it when I made it tonight and had cherry tomatoes that needed to be used up. I chopped them up, threw them in and thought it gave the chili a nice, gardeny-fresh flavor.
