I will apologize upfront–there is no recipe included in this post…sorry! I wanted to “update” you all with the exciting results of some recent testing. For those of you who have read my story, you know I was tested a few years ago and found out I was low in progesterone, therefore requiring me to take progesterone during the first trimester of pregnancies. A few months into my new “eating lifestyle” that was started in April 2011, I noticed a significant, positive difference in how I felt hormonally. And when I went back on progesterone, my body basically loudly proclaimed to me that it was not liking the extra progesterone. After praying about it, we decided to have my progesterone levels retested. The changes were too significant to not check and see.
I hoped and was 95% sure that the test would yield positive results, but there was still a part of me fearing that the test would show no change. I prayed a lot about it during this past month and hoped that the cost of retesting would yield good results.
Long story short, I found out last week my progesterone levels are good and I won’t have to take progesterone anymore! Praise God! I am so thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ for bringing this change of diet into my life at just the right time and how He has used it in so many positive ways in my life. And I was thrilled beyond belief that I wouldn’t have to take progesterone anymore (not that it is such a bad thing to take, but after seeing how horribly my body reacted to it after cleaning up my diet, I am so excited to be off it).
Once again, I am not making any claims that if you do this diet, your hormones would level out as well. I would encourage you to think about it if you are willing to give it a try. I know that seeing those test results is just another reason I personally want to stick with it!
Anyway, that is my happy news for today! Have a wonderful week!
“Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense either to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God; just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit but the profit of the many, so that they may be saved.” 1 Corinthians 10:31-33

Just came across this article. I also had to take progesterone with four pregnancies and within the last year supplemental progesterone during PMS, which helped with the symptoms somewhat. After being on a paleo diet my RA forabout a week and a half, I got my period with virtually no PMS symptoms! Amazing what a change in diet can do. Can’t wait to see what happens over the next few cycles. I would LOVE not to have to take it any more.

This is so encouraging! I have struggled with hormone imbalance all my life. I started the paleo lifestyle a month ago… I hope I can see similar results!

I find it so amazing and encouraging to read about different people’s health improvements after changing their diets. Too often, people look to fix symptoms without really looking at WHAT is causing these symptoms to surface in the first place. I am also continually amazed at how food can so radically change our health for better and worse. Congratulations on your happy test results, what a relief to have some concrete numbers to prove what you already knew instinctively!
